Christian Blickensderfer, 1762. The structure was incorporated into the current, 1870s, building. Dr Allison lived here when the Rev War hospital was in Lititz.

John William Rauch, moved here in 1810. A baker and confectioner (candy, cakes). His pretzels were of bread dough so were soft and perishable. In the 1850s his son, Henry, apprenticed Julius Sturgis. The story goes that a tramp offered a hard pretzel formula for a meal. Julius acquired the formula. The secret? Less water and a higher baking temperature. The original ovens remain in the basement.

Continue west and stop just past the 66 E Main St steps on your left.
