Walk towards the High Victorian Gothic chapel and cross the driveway in front of it called Laverly Lane then stop.

Look left to the shallow U of buildings. We now stand at the edge of Church Square. Moravians believed all Congregants should be able to read the bible. Education of boys and girls played a significant part of the community in Lititz.

Linden Hall School for Girls, founded in 1746, is the oldest girls’ boarding school in the US. It has an international student body of girls grades 6-12. (Behind the buildings are horse riding grounds and stables.) Look to the first building to your left.

#10 Church Square

The Mary Dixon Memorial Chapel of 1885 is in High Victorian Gothic style. Linden Hall student Mary Dixon died of TB 3 years after her graduation. Her father had this built in her honor. Now look to the building at the end of the driveway but facing you.

#7 Church Square

Sisters’ House, 1758. Now part of Linden Hall School, in colonial times young unmarried sisters lived and learned sewing, embroidery, and made linen clothing. Now walk along East Main St to the walkway to the church.
